Crane Hire
Eastern Crane Hire operate a modern fleet of mobile cranes, we pride ourselves on providing a professional and competitive service for customers.
Our Cranes and lifting equipment have extensive testing and maintenance checks completed regularly to ensure a continued safe and reliable service is provided. Our equipment is available for long-term and short-term hire to suit any project.
All lifting operations are carried out under the Construction Plant Hire Association (CPA) Terms and Conditions and in accordance with BS7121 ‘The Safe use of Cranes’ and LOLER ‘Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations’.
All lifting operations should only be carried out by trained and competent individuals with experience and expertise. We are able to offer Crane hire on a CPA Hire or CPA Contract Lift basis. It is important that as the hirer you are aware of the differences, please take a moment to read through the information below if required.
CPA Hire
When hiring under CPA terms it is the hirers responsibility to oversee the safe operation of the crane and safety and welfare of its Operator. This includes planning, supervising and controlling the lifting operation. The preparation and distribution of detailed risk assessments and method statements and for the safe slinging of the goods to be lifted or handled.
The hirer must also provide sufficient insurance cover for the duration of the hire, including:
- Loss of, or damage to plant whilst on site
- Loss of, or damage to the good being lifted
- Public Liability
The hirer must comply with BS7121 and LOLER regulations.
Eastern Crane Hires duty is to supply a well maintained crane with current test certification along with a qualified and competent CPCS operator.

Contract Lift
If the lifting operation is being carried out on a Contract Lift basis, Eastern Crane Hire will take full control of the lift and provide a qualified Appointed Person to plan and manage the lift in compliance with BS7121 and LOLER regulations.
A thorough site inspection will be carried out to determine the crane capacity required and ascertain full details of the site prior to the lift.
A detailed, site specific lift plan formation, risk assessment and method statement will be completed by the assigned Appointed Person.
Eastern Crane Hire will supply a well maintained crane with current test certification along with a qualified and competent CPCS operator and competent slinger/signaller will be provided to assist with the lifting operation.
All required insurance cover will also be provided by Eastern Crane Hire.
